Motivation for happiness is cultivated in two ways: Positive and Negative. Most people are familiar with negative motivation and don’t even realize it. One good example of negative motivation in my life is exercising. When you think about the reason people exercise, how many people do you know that exercise for the sheer enjoyment of it? Not many. One main reason people exercise is to lose weight. While some people try and lose weight for health reasons, it is fair to say that lots of people are motivated to lose weight so they can look more beautiful. Can you see how it is negatively motivated? They aren’t exercising out of anything positive.

Finding Happiness
Are you one of the many people who desperately want to change your life and find happiness but get stuck afraid? Its ok, it happens to the best of us. However, you must move through fear if you really want to transform your life and create the peace and joy you know you can have.
Fear is generated through thoughts in your mind like “what if”. They are the thoughts that warn you that something potentially bad could happen. Another way fear is generated is by our mind replaying past events in our lives. Lots of times, these events didn’t have the best outcomes and you probably don’t ever want to experience them again.

Have you chosen Happiness ?
People usually mess up their
lives by comparing themselves to others, or by comparing events to others they
experienced before. For example, we know of those people that like to brag
about where they have traveled to, the places they have stayed, the things they
have eaten, and more. We know that it can always be a challenge to keep up with
those types of people. However, we know you will just be living your life as a
race to keep up with other people.
My happiness was my job
'I thought I'd be Happier' was
a statement from a someone about a week after her divorce was finalized. Even
though we'd had been discussing that happiness is an 'inside' job; she was
certain that once her divorce was finalized that would catapult her into
happiness.
How often we rely on external
events, things or people to 'make' us happy. We say 'Life will finally be good
when blank happens.' I've seen it with life events of a new job, marriage, or a
new baby. When I was married, it was when we buy the house, make a certain
level of income or when we go on that next vacation.
The events come and go and we
may experience a brief period of happiness; but then we settle back into the
same old yucky feelings.
So how do you become Happy?
How do I become happy in life
How do I become happy in
life... This is the question of all questions. Everyone is searching for
happiness in life and everyone discovers happiness differently. In one way or
another, happiness is found within you. Happiness directly relates to your
ability to love. So essentially if you want to know how to learn to
be happy in life, you must learn to love more.
Happiness is a personal choice
Happiness like success is very
often misunderstood and too many people think that happiness is a function of
how much money you have. Most people wrongly believe that if you make enough
money, you can buy happiness. I have had the experience of pursuing money at
the expense of everything else in my life and woke up one day with a very empty
life and no one to share my life with me.
find yourself on the way to a happier life
Does life sometimes get you
down? Here are 15 more things to do that could make you happier.
1. Follow your gut instinct.
Research has shown that people who follow their instincts are happier with the
decisions they have made. If you have a decision to make and have your choices
down to two or three options, pick the one that feels right to you. Never
regret the decisions you make.
2. Make enough money to cover
your basic needs. Research shows that money that you make beyond this will not
make you any happier. While it increases your comfort that is not what makes
people happy.
3. Forgive. Research shows
that forgiving can improve your cardiovascular health and lowers your stress
levels.
4 keys to unlock the happiness within you
The first key is to find the
value of every experience in your life. We may not have been taught this, in
fact it can seem quite natural to complain, blame and project our unhappy
experiences into the world and to those around us. The problem with that is
that we lose the ability to take our power back in these situations. By
recognizing the value in any perceived negative experience we naturally improve
the energy of it. Everything is energy, so by taking the time to value, feel
grateful and appreciate the bad times, see the gift in the situation, we
automatically re-align ourselves with our natural state of well-being, which is
happiness.
15 ideas to Be Happy
Do you often feel down or upset? Do you just need a
lift? Here are 15 easy things to do that could make you feel happier.
Experiment and let us know what worked for you.
1. Smile. Even if you feel unhappy smiling can make
you feel better. Smile even when you don't feel like it and as often as you
can.
2. Laugh a lot. As with smiling this can make your
happiness increase as laughing helps with the release of endorphins and other
happiness-inducing hormones.
List of Things you Can do to Help Others
Here is a short list of things you can do to help others:
1. Love unconditionally. We are all looking for this. Finding ways to show
that you care about others without reserve, expectations, or consequences will
help more than anything else.
2. Help someone in need. Have you ever had a flat, and needed help getting
it fixed, yet no one stopped...don't be that person. Do what you can be it just
offering a phone to make a call, a ride to get some gas, or a few bucks to help
get a new tire.
3. Compliment someone. Sometimes all someone needs to have a great day is
to hear that they have a nice pair of shoes, a good outfit, etc.
get courage and become happier
To begin to better your life
you have to establish and control your courage. Having courage will help you
take risks so you will have a brighter future, and make those dreams come true.
Put those fears behind you, be brave and admit to yourself that you have these
fears that are stopping you become the person you want to be. Do not let fear
control you, take charge and control those fears. This is how to get courage
and become happier.
It's never hard to find help
"People are happy helping. It's never hard to find help. It is only
hard to know that it's time to ask."
Maurice Sendak, Brundibar
As one who is reluctant to ask for help, Sendak's quote struck home.
If you have children, you probably know who Maurice Sendak is. If you pay
attention to the news, you probably know that Maurice Sendak died at the age of
83 on May 8th. Sendak was a children's author. Perhaps his best known book was
"Where The Wild Things Are."
I didn't realize what an amazing man he was until I heard Fresh Air
on NPR with Terry Gross on May 8th. Terry replayed four interviews she had done
with Sendak over the years.
Brundibar" (2003), with text by the playwright Tony Kushner, is based
on an opera performed by the children of the Theresienstadt concentration camp.
The opera, also called "Brundibar," had been composed in 1938 by Hans
Krasa, a Czech Jew who later died in Auschwitz.
THE INFLUENCE OF HAPPINESS
"Be happy, talk happiness. Happiness calls out responsive gladness in
others."
Helen Keller
Helen Keller
It was Helen Keller's belief that God gave us life for happiness, not
misery, despite our predilection to wallow in thoughts for suffering that mere
existence offers up serenely each day. Perhaps her point is we can take what we
want - happiness or negativity.
So why would we insist on glumness when joyfulness can be our order? It's
because we are given to complaint; we need to fight past this in order to
redeem happiness.
